Gorleston church celebrates Christmas at theatre

Cliff Park Community Church organized its annual Christmas service at the Gorleston Pavilion, which included a choir, orchestra, testimony, and refreshments. Despite the wet weather, the service was well attended and the theatre was buzzing with activity. The service featured traditional carols performed by an orchestra and church choir, led by John Stephens from CPCC. The vicar, Rev Derek McClean, spoke about the similarities between the shepherds who visited Jesus and the seven dwarves, and local curate Karl Ross shared his testimony of how he came to faith. Ross spoke about committing his life to Jesus in 2012 after a difficult family situation, and a collection for the Norfolk children’s bereavement charity Nelson’s Journey was taken as people left, adding to the funds collected at a recent quiz night. Church administrator Tracy Mayne expressed gratitude to the Pavilion Theatre staff and all those who participated in the service.
