Gorleston Christian youth worker moves on
Matt Ashpole, youth worker with Identity in Gorleston, will be leaving next month, and his supporters are invited to a Thank You event to pray for Matt and give thanks for his work.
The event will be an opportunity for those who know Matt, whether they are young people in Identity, supporters and friends of Identity, or families, to gather as a community, celebrate him, his ministry and to pray for him and for Identity going forwards. It will include a barbecue, probably the football cage and other activities, as well as some time together to reflect, give thanks and to pray for Matt and his wife Hannah, pictured above.
Anna Price, chair of Identity trustees, said “The time has come for our wonderful youth worker, Matt Ashpole to step down from this role, being led into the next season of his life and ministry. For the past four and a half years, Matt has modelled to our young people what it means to be a disciple of Christ. He has faithfully taught them the Scriptures and demonstrated to them the richness, meaning and hope of the Christian life in all its fulness. We as trustees are grateful to him for his faithful service through Identity Youth Project and pray for his flourishing and God’s leading as he walks forwards.”
The trustees of Identity are meeting to make plans for continuing and developing the work going forwards, and are thankful for recent pledged and ongoing donations from Cliff Park Community Church and John James Trust which will help them to plan for the future with hope and confidence. Supporters are encouraged to pray that it will not take long to make a suitable appointment.
The Thank You event will take place at 4.30pm on Sunday 23 July at St Mary Magdalene (church and/or vicarage garden) in Gorleston. Those who wish to come are asked to sign up in advance. Please click here.
