Norwich deaths: 7 unanswered questions in mystery deaths of dad, 2 young daughters & woman after cops ‘IGNORED’ 999 call

Norfolk Police are investigating the deaths of a father and his two young daughters, as well as a mystery woman, in Norwich. The police have referred themselves to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) after admitting that officers failed to respond to a 999 call from the house where the bodies were discovered. Bartlomiej Kuczynski, a 45-year-old man, and his two daughters, 12-year-old Jasmin and seven-year-old sister, were found dead in their home. Neighbors described the children as “beautiful” and “lovely sisters,” but much of the case remains shrouded in mystery.
The woman found alongside the Kuczynski family has not been identified, but it is known that she was 36 years old and was a member of the same family. It is unclear why the police did not respond to the 999 call from Mr. Kuczynski at 6am on the day of his death, and it is yet to be revealed why officers did not respond until a second emergency call was made an hour later. Another IOPC referral was made related to the police’s contact with the family on December 14, 2023, in connection with a “missing person enquiry.”
The member of the public who called at 7am on the morning of January 19 to raise concerns for the welfare of the family has not been identified, and the reason for their call remains vague. Furthermore, the reason for the police only responding to the second 999 call is also unknown. A cause of death is yet to be confirmed for any of the four people involved, and post-mortems will likely be conducted in the near future to determine this. The police have confirmed that all four had suffered “injuries” and said that it was an “isolated incident.” However, a knife found in nearby woodland is not believed to be connected to the case. An institutional failings investigation is ongoing, but it can take months or even years to complete.
