YOUTUBE star Tanya Burr shocked fans as she took to Instagram on June 14 to announce the news that she is expecting her first child.
The 33-year-old started her online career creating make-up tutorials and vlogs before branching out into acting.
Who is Tanya Burr and what is her YouTube channel about?
Tanya Burr is an English YouTuber and actress born on June 9, 1989.
She previously trained as a make-up artist and worked behind a beauty counter before starting YouTube in 2009.
Burr joined YouTube after her ex-husband Jim Chapman’s sisters encouraged her to.
She then began posting makeup and fashion videos and over the years collaborated with other YouTubers, including Zoe Sugg, Louise Pentland, Alfie Deyes, Tyler Oakley, and Joe Sugg.
The Norwich-born star also branched into filming baking videos where she makes homely sweet treats.
Her most-watched video, which has now been deleted, was a challenge-style video in which she and her good friend Zoella attempt to do their make-up in 3 minutes – the video had more than 5 million views.
Tanya’s YouTube career reached great success, and in 2014, she launched a cosmetics brand, through British retailer Superdrug, called Tanya Burr Cosmetics.
In December 2015, she appeared on the cover of Glamour UK, and on the cover of Stylist in November 2016.
To add to that, in June 2016 she released the book Tanya Bakes, containing many of her favourite recipes.
In 2017, decided to pursue a career in acting and has since had guest roles in series such as Bulletproof and Holby City, as well as the 2021 film Twist.
Who is Tanya dating?
On June 14, Tanya posted an adorable black and white snap of her baby bump as she and her partner cradled.
She captioned the snap: “We love you so much already little [peanut].”
The actress is yet to confirm the identity of her partner at this time.
Speculations about her new man first appeared in September 2021, when she shared a post with a mysterious man on Instagram.
In a string of pictures, she shared a glimpse of the long bank holiday weekend last August, followed by the caption: “bank hol camera roll”.
And while most of the pictures were snaps of her featuring her outfits of the day, in one of them she uploaded a close-up image with someone.
The image featured someone’s hands wrapped around her waist which is when her fans started to speculate that she is in a new relationship after her divorce from Jim Chapman.
What happened between Tanya and Jim Chapman?
In September 2015, Tanya married YouTube star, Jim Chapman.
Their wedding was at Babington House in Somerset and was attended by many well-known YouTubers.
But what seemed like a match made in heaven came to an end in March 2019, when the couple revealed they had split.
Tanya issued a statement on Instagram saying: “Just wanted to let you all know that a few weeks ago Jim and I made the painful decision to no longer be together.
“We have a huge amount of love and respect for each other and will continue to remain friends forever.
“Thank you in advance for respecting our privacy at this difficult time.”
In 2019, Tanya opened up in an interview with The Telegraph about how it feels to be the subject of internet speculation.
“All that matters is what Jim and I think,” Tanya continued. “It’s boring – he’s still my best friend. We’ve been best friends for 12 years, [but] people will want some drama from it. We’re always going to be in each other’s lives, hopefully.”
Jim went on to marry model Sarah Tarleton in 2022 and they welcomed their first child together, a daughter named Margot Grace Alba Chapman, in September 2021.
