Last image of Gaynor Lord released and shows mum walking towards cathedral as cops reveal dive ‘challenges’
Police say the search for missing mum, Gaynor Lord has become increasingly difficult for several reasons. This includes visibility being close to zero in the River Wensum due to cold temperatures and flow of the river, which has been affected by heavy rainfall. Additionally, the terrain is irregular and largely natural, which creates a challenge for search efforts as it poses obstructions for sonar and dive teams. Witnesses indicated that they may have seen her performing yoga in the park on the afternoon she disappeared, and this information is being utilized in the search effort as police look to gather as much information as possible.
In the CCTV footage, the last sighting of Gaynor Lord was at 4:01 pm on St Augustine’s Street, Norwich, which is near a park. Her belongings have been found scattered in different locations in the park, including her work shirt, tank top, coat, mobile phone, ring, and glasses. There is speculation that she may have met someone at the cathedral before she went missing. Search teams are using several types of sonar from a boat in the River Wensum for underwater efforts but have encountered visibility and terrain challenges that make the search operation difficult. Despite these obstacles, police continue to urge witnesses to come forward with any information they might have.
The last known CCTV image shows Gaynor looking happy as she left work but then in a later clip, she is seen running along the pavement, similar to the witness account of seeing her performing yoga, except that she was in a hurry. The police revealed that they are linking in with the force who worked on the disappearance of Nicola Bulley, indicating that they are expanding their investigative efforts. Witnesses of any activity near the River Wensum and Wensum Park on the day of her disappearance are being asked to come forward in the hope of gaining more information that may lead to the discovery of Gaynor Lord’s whereabouts.
