“To be honest I forgot the cameras were there and can capture every word now.
“You don’t think about that during the game. For those who were offended by my language, I apologise.
“I’d like to reiterate though that my comments were not aimed at anyone.
McCarthy has been under pressure from a small section of the Port Road faithful all season as Ipswich continue to bob along outside the top 10.

Sunday’s 1-1 draw left Ipswich in 12th place, 10 points adrift of the play-off places but ahead of Norwich on goal difference.
Former Republic of Ireland boss McCarthy, appointed Ipswich manager in 2012, is no stranger to colourful outbursts.
He launched a foul-mouthed attack on critical Ipswich fans at a press conference in 2016 and apologised for swearing at the club’s supporters during his side’s win at Burton in October.
That came after they had chanted for him to be sacked.
