Hunt for missing mum Gaynor Lord as cops probe five-hour gap between last sighting and phone being found near river
A huge police search is underway for 55-year-old Gaynor Lord, who went missing in Norwich, Norfolk after her jewelry and phone were discovered near the Wensum River. Gaynor was last seen heading towards the cathedral in the center of Norwich at 2:35 pm on Friday before she vanished. The police declared her missing after she failed to return home from work and identified the discovered items as belonging to her. The police are currently conducting extensive searches, including searching the river, using drones, foot searches, and sonar equipment to scour the area for clues.
The police have used divers, fire crews, and the coastguard to search the nearby River Wensum using sonar equipment to examine the water. They are not ruling out any possibilities, including third-party involvement. The police are also preparing for underwater searches and have enlisted the help of specialist teams. Superintendent Wes Hornigold emphasized that the focus of the searches remains on the park, and efforts will continue until more details emerge. Gaynor, who is described as a white woman with blonde shoulder-length hair, was last seen walking along London Street in Norwich. She was wearing a white shirt, yellow tank top with an olive-colored large coat over the top, and a scarf. The missing woman is believed to be married to a successful financial advisor. The police are continuing their search operations in the park and nearby waterways and are determined to locate Gaynor as soon as possible to bring her home safely.
