Cops launch ‘no body’ murder probe after woman, 58, last seen by family several years ago as man, 56, arrested in Wales

COPS have arrested a man on suspicion of murder – after relatives of a missing woman went YEARS without speaking to her.

Relatives of Diane Douglas contacted police on Thursday, October 21 to report her missing after losing contact with her for several years.

Officers immediately launched a probe – and tonight announced they’re treating her disappearance as murder, even though no body has been found.

A 56-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of the killing.

He was detained in Wales but is being returned to his home in Norfolk for questioning.

Police say he was known to Diane, who was 58 and lived in Colton on the outskirts of Norwich.

Detective Inspector Matthew Connick said hopes of finding Diane safe and well are rapidly fading.

“Although we hope to find Diane alive, we do believe it is highly likely that she has come to harm as she has not been seen for a significant period of time,” he said.

“We have therefore launched a murder investigation.

“A man has been arrested this evening and will be questioned in due course on suspicion of her murder.

“We have a team of officers searching her last known address in Colton and we expect this search to continue for a number of days.

“We would urge anyone who may have seen, known or has any information concerning Diane’s disappearance to contact us.”

Anyone with information should contact Norfolk Police on 101 quoting Operation Entity.
