Chelsea fans urge Antonio Conte to start Callum Hudson-Odoi against Norwich

CHELSEA fans are urging boss Antonio Conte to give whizkid striker Callum Hudson-Odoi a chance against Norwich City.

The Blues entertain the Championship side in Wednesday’s FA Cup third round replay after a goalless away draw.

The 17-year-old was on the bench at Carrow Road but didn’t get on and still awaits his debut for the club.

Alvaro Morata, for instance, has gone five games without a goal and has only three in his last ten Chelsea games.

Hudson-Odoi, meanwhile, netted a hat-trick for the development squad on Sunday morning.

It’s hardly a fair comparison but Blues’ fans still took to Twitter to demand he gets a first-team start.

That took his total for the season to 13 goals and six assists in 17 games for the development squad, U19s and U18s.

After there successive goalless draws for the Premier League champions, will Conte throw Hudson-Odoi in against the Canaries?

It looks as though the Italian expects the teenager to have a bright future at Stamford Bridge, saying:

“Hudson-Odoi is another player who deserves to have a chance to show he can play for this team for 10 or 15 years.”

But whether he pins his faith in the player who won the Under-17 World Cup with England remains to be seen.

By the way, Hudson-Odoi’s exploits follow on from some great performances last season when he impressed for the Chelsea Under-18s.

The young Blues star landed a historic treble and scored in the final of the FA Youth Cup against Manchester City – one of his eight goals in 25 appearances for the Under-18s.

QPR and Bristol City were said to be interested in taking Hudson-Odoi on loan this season, with Tammy Abraham’s successful loan spell with the Robins serving as inspiration.

But the youngster chose to stay put for now and continue his development at Chelsea.
