Norwich’s Tasty Restaurant gets one-star food hygiene rating
Food Standards Agency officials said Tasty Restaurant in Prince of Wales Road needed “major improvement” to its management of food safety, while cleanliness also needed improvement according to inspectors.
The only thing described as “generally satisfactory” was food handling including preparation, storage and reheating.
But the latest inspection sees a minor improvement for the Chinese takeaway after it was given zero stars at the last review, with a report in February 2022 finding grease so thick it could be scraped off with a fingernail and mushrooms left on the floor to soak in a “broken and soiled” pot.
Tasty Restaurant bosses found themselves in the dock over their hygiene standards in 2017, when they were fined £1,000 after Norwich City Council officials found the restaurant “heavily soiled” with people sleeping on its floors.
The takeaway is now able to appeal the rating or ask for a reinspection.
Tasty Restaurant has been contacted for comment.
