Norwich: Plans revealed for care home in Hellesdon
Cascade Care, which specialises in providing residential care for people with learning difficulties and mental health conditions, is hoping to build a facility for young adults in Drayton High Road, Hellesdon.
The project would see Cascade’s existing Charlton House demolished to make way for the development.
Planning documents submitted to Broadland District Council state the property would have no more than seven occupants at one time and it would be staffed 24 hours per day by specialist carers.

Many of the residents would continue with their college studies on a full or part time basis.
The facility, which would be split over two floors and constructed in an ‘L Shape’, would also be registered with the Care Quality Commission.
Cascade’s design and access statement claims: “The area is in need of such a facility, due to the results of a recent internal analysis report which demonstrates a significant lack of facilities in the Anglia area.
“The ethos behind this project is that they firmly believe all vulnerable people should receive safe, appropriate, high-quality care with the emphasis on health, education and community in first-class living environment and this proposal provides just that.”
