Norwich City fan ‘Westy’ runs half marathon for Macmillan
Nathan ‘Westy’ West of Earsham, near Bungay, completed the Run Kent-Tonbridge Half Marathon earlier today.
Originally, he had set himself the target of raising £500 for Macmillan Cancer Research – but that all changed in August when he became the subject of hateful comments on X, formerly known as Twitter, following an interview he gave the Pink Un.
The trolling resulted in a surge of support from the football community and a wave of donations, meaning he surpassed his initial target by 12,000pc.
The Canaries fan, who had never run a half marathon before, completed the race in one hour and 46 minutes.

“It was a good challenge today, more hilly than I expected, but I wanted to push myself to the next level,” said the 32-year-old.
“On mile nine the hills were really tough but I settled after that for a good finish.”
The Clays factory worker’s sights are set on taking on the Bungay half marathon next, which takes place in April.
His donation page remains open at justgiving.com.
