Norfolk and Norwich sees record nominations for staff awards
The Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital’s annual staff awards received over 800 nominations, including entries from patients and their families. Gynaecologist Anna Haestier was awarded the individual patient choice award for her “compassionate and gentle” support of a family who experienced the loss of a child. Her patient described her as fully invested in the care of her patients and their families, stating that she is an exceptional doctor and a wonderful person. The team patient choice award was given to the acute oncology service for their outstanding dedication and support to patients.
The hospital’s chairman, Tom Spink, expressed pride in the excellent individuals and teams at the hospital, recognizing those who go above and beyond to help patients and colleagues. In addition to Anna Haestier and the acute oncology service, other winners included the trainees of the year – Olivia Bate, Samantha Brundle, and Eleanor Cass. The clinical team of the year award went to the fluoroscopic radiographers, while the non-clinical team of the year award was given to the data quality team. The Edith Cavell Award was presented to Cherry King, and the lifetime achievement award was granted to John FitzGerald, Kay Marrison, Jackiw Mulford, and Victoria Tuvey.
