Ex-Norwich midfielder Tom Adeyemi lands PFA position

The Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) recently held an election for three former members to join their Players’ Board. Among the elected individuals is former Norwich City player Tom Adeyemi, who will join the board alongside former Coventry winger Peter Vincetti and retired Doncaster man Simon Gillett. Adeyemi has previous experience within the PFA, serving as a playing delegate during his time as a professional footballer.

Adeyemi spent 13 years with Norwich City, having graduated from the club’s academy. He made 17 appearances for the team, 11 of which came during their successful League One title-winning campaign. Following his stint at Norwich, Adeyemi went on to represent Rotherham United, Birmingham City, and Cardiff City. In 2017, he joined Ipswich Town but injuries limited his playing time at the club to just four starts and one substitute appearance. Consequently, Adeyemi retired from professional football at the age of 27.

Since retiring from football, Adeyemi has pursued a career in strategic consulting. He has also enrolled in the Harvard Business School, where he is currently studying towards an MBA. With his diverse experiences in both football and business, Adeyemi brings a unique perspective to the PFA Players’ Board. Alongside Vincetti and Gillett, he will help represent the voices of former professional footballers in guiding the future of the organization.

The PFA Players’ Board consists of 13 representatives in total, with each of the five divisions – Premier League, Women’s Super League, Championship, League One, and League Two – being represented by two members. In addition to the divisional representatives, three former players sit on the board. The board plays a crucial role in shaping the PFA’s policies and decisions, ensuring they consider the interests and perspectives of former players from various levels of football. Adeyemi, Vincetti, and Gillett will contribute their expertise and insights to drive positive change within the organization and the sport as a whole.
