Yellow Door Eats, in Hethersett, launches dessert pizzas
During the pandemic, Lisa Billman launched her business, Yellow Door Eats, from her home in Hethersett. The inspiration for the business came from a trip to Italy, where Lisa and her husband Dan learned to make their own pizza dough. The business soon became a family affair, with their teenage children, Maisie and Albert, joining in to help. Since its inception, Yellow Door Eats has built a loyal customer base that appreciates the fresh, homemade dough.
As the pandemic restrictions continue, the business concept of Yellow Door Eats emerged. The family, along with some local helpers, work together as a team to create and deliver their products. In December, the eatery plans to offer festive specials with unique toppings, including chicken, stuffing, pigs in blankets, brie, and toasted walnuts. Furthermore, dessert pizzas have become a popular addition to the menu, with 25 to 30 sweet toppings rotated weekly. Special edition toppings for the upcoming Christmas season will include chocolate orange, mint, mince pie, and shortbread.
Notably, the dessert pizzas have been well-received and have become a standout offering for Yellow Door Eats. In previous years, the business has introduced a sweet sugar and spice pizza to their menu, which Lisa Billman describes as tasting like “a mix between a Danish pastry and a cinnamon swirl.” The dessert pizzas are available for collection from their location in Hethersett or for delivery within a five-mile radius on Fridays and Saturdays from 4pm to 8pm. Yellow Door Eats continues to grow and evolve as it meets the demands and preferences of its customers.
