Uprise Games studio being launched by students from Norwich

Dylan Wilson, Cody Miller, and Michael Beckwith, all students at Access Creative College, have founded their own indie game studio, Uprise Games. The trio, all in their late teens, have a shared passion for gaming and are in their second year of studying Games Technology Level Three. Their studio’s focus is on creating games that bring friends and families together and forge enduring memories. So far, the group has created three digital games exclusively available on the Steam platform and has plans to host ‘game jams,’ live sessions where participants work together to create a game from scratch.

Their passion for gaming developed in childhood and has played a significant role in shaping who they have become. They view their exposure to video games as a vital part of their upbringing and are excited to build communities through their creations. The trio believes that pursuing their passion for gaming as a career is a natural and fulfilling choice, as they are following the age-old adage that if you love what you do, you will never work a day in your life. This decision has led to the creation of Uprise Games and the opportunity to share their love of gaming with others. More information about the studio can be found on their website.

Uprise Games is an indie studio, which means that it is a small group of people creating games without the financial backing of larger corporations. This allows them the freedom to develop games that focus on their personal vision and creative ideas. The trio is looking forward to continuing their work and developing a unique and innovative gaming experience for their players. Their studio’s mission is to cultivate lasting memories and experiences for their players, with a particular emphasis on promoting social connections and communal play. They see gaming as a way to bring people together and are committed to designing games that reflect this ethos.

Their experiences growing up around video games have provided them with a deep understanding and appreciation of the medium, and they are excited to be able to use this knowledge to build their studio and create games that resonate with their players. As they continue to expand their portfolio and reach a wider audience, they are confident that their passion for gaming will shine through in their work, and they are eager to share their creations with the world.
