Gary Numan Adds Norwich, Bournemouth And Northampton Shows To Summer UK Tour

Gary Numan Expands Summer UK Tour with Intimate Venue Shows
Electronic music pioneer Gary Numan has announced an expansion to his summer UK tour, adding a series of intimate venue performances to complement his already scheduled larger shows. The celebrated artist, known for his groundbreaking contributions to electronic music, will now perform at Norwich’s Waterfront on July 20-21, Bournemouth’s Old Fire Station on July 23-24, and Northampton’s Roadmender on August 4-5. These smaller venues offer fans a rare opportunity to experience Numan’s performance in a more personal setting, creating a striking contrast to the grander stages he typically commands. The additional shows reflect Numan’s commitment to connecting with his audience across different performance environments, from cozy clubs to major venues like the Crystal Palace Bowl in South London, where he’ll headline the inaugural Palace Bowl Presents concert series on August 6, supported by Marc Almond and Ladytron.
The expanded tour also includes previously announced performances at Glasgow’s Queen’s Park Arena, Gateshead’s Glasshouse, four nights at The Tivoli in Buckley, and a headline appearance at the Live At The Piece Hall series in Halifax. Tickets for the newly announced shows in Norwich, Bournemouth, and Northampton will go on general sale this Friday, March 6, at 9am, while tickets for all other UK dates are already available. Before returning to British shores, Numan is currently participating in The 80s Cruise aboard the RC Adventure of the Seas, followed by an extensive North American tour spanning from March into April. This packed schedule demonstrates Numan’s enduring appeal and tireless work ethic as he continues to engage audiences on both sides of the Atlantic with his distinctive sound and captivating stage presence.
Numan’s touring activity follows the 2021 release of his studio album ‘Intruder,’ which maintained his reputation for pushing musical boundaries. Since then, he has released several live albums and remastered editions of his earlier work, including a 45th anniversary expanded edition of ‘Telekon,’ his second solo LP that originally topped the UK charts in 1980. Last autumn, Numan celebrated this milestone with a dedicated Telekon 45th Anniversary Tour across the UK and Ireland, performing the album in its entirety alongside his greatest hits and deep cuts that delighted longtime fans. This approach of honoring his musical heritage while continuing to create new material has helped Numan maintain his relevance and creative momentum throughout his extensive career.
The upcoming tour showcases Numan’s versatility as a performer, with his ability to adapt his distinctive electronic soundscapes to venues of vastly different scales. The intimate club shows will provide fans with an up-close experience of Numan’s intense performance style and meticulous sound design, while his appearance at the majestic Crystal Palace Bowl represents the opposite end of the performance spectrum. This contrast highlights Numan’s unique position in the music landscape – an artist with the credibility and devoted following to sell out small venues, while simultaneously commanding headline slots at major outdoor events. The diversity of these settings reflects the broad appeal of Numan’s music, which continues to resonate with audiences of multiple generations.
Numan’s North American tour before returning to the UK is equally impressive, with a packed schedule of nearly 30 shows across the United States and Canada. Beginning in Florida with performances in Fort Lauderdale, St. Petersburg, and Orlando, the tour will take him through Georgia, North Carolina, Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, and into Canada for shows in Montreal and Toronto. The tour continues through the American Midwest with stops in Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Wisconsin, and Minnesota before heading west to Colorado, Arizona, and finally concluding with a series of California shows in places ranging from Pioneertown to San Luis Obispo. This comprehensive routing demonstrates Numan’s significant draw as a touring artist in North America, where his influence on electronic, industrial, and alternative music remains profound.
The announcement of these additional tour dates comes at a time when Numan’s legacy and ongoing contributions to music are being widely celebrated. Having pioneered electronic sound in popular music since the late 1970s, first with Tubeway Army and then as a solo artist, Numan has influenced countless musicians across genres from synthpop to industrial metal. His willingness to continuously evolve his sound while maintaining his distinctive voice and vision has earned him a dedicated following that spans decades. As he embarks on this extensive touring schedule for 2026, Numan continues to demonstrate the enduring power of his artistic expression and his commitment to connecting with audiences through live performance. Whether in the intimate confines of the Waterfront in Norwich or commanding the stage at Crystal Palace Bowl, Gary Numan remains an essential and vital force in contemporary music.
