Ryanair to fly new routes from Norwich Airport in April 2024

Norwich Airport is set to expand its routes and offerings with the addition of three new destinations: Malta, Alicante, and Faro. These routes will be operated by budget airline Ryanair and will run on Mondays and Fridays, with return journeys available as well. The news was shared by aviation analyst Sean Moulton, who also provided detailed flight times and numbers to his followers. Although tickets are not yet available for purchase, the flight times and aircraft numbers have been loaded onto the Ryanair website and are expected to be available for purchase soon.

Norwich Airport currently offers flights to 18 destinations in nine countries, with connections to 150 more locations via Amsterdam. While Malta and Alicante were previously available with KLM and Flybe, both services were cancelled shortly before the Covid pandemic. The addition of Faro as a new destination will provide travelers with a range of options for their next vacation. Norwich Airport is reportedly close to confirming its first association with Ryanair, and this expansion is expected to bring positive outcomes for the region.

Vicky Samwell-Buckenham, manager at Norwich-based agency Oyster Travel, expressed enthusiasm for the new routes, stating that customers are eager to fly from Norwich Airport and will continue to support it. She emphasized that the return of these flight options will be a welcome development for those who remember flying to Malta or Malaga with Flybe in the past. In addition to Ryanair, TUI currently operates the most routes from Norwich Airport and has announced plans to add a second weekly flight to Tenerife between October and April. Despite past criticism for delays and cancellations, TUI remains a significant operator at the airport.

Overall, the addition of Malta, Alicante, and Faro to Norwich Airport’s roster of destinations is seen as a positive development, offering travelers more options and convenience. This expansion is expected to be well-received by the local community and will likely contribute to the airport’s continued growth and success. With the potential for more flight options and improved connectivity, Norwich Airport has the opportunity to become an even more attractive choice for travelers in the region.
