Engino toy shop prepares to open in Castle Quarter Norwich
Norwich’s Castle Quarter will soon welcome the Engino Stem Exploration Centre, the first of its kind in the UK. The store aims to provide an interactive and experience-focused environment for families looking for educational toys, with a focus on science, technology, engineering, and maths (Stem). Located in a prime spot next to the mall’s Castle Meadow entrance, the Engino store will offer a mix of retail, education, and a cafe.
Castle Quarter manager Rob Bradley expressed excitement about the arrival of Engino, stating that the store will be a perfect addition to the entertainment offerings at the mall. The store’s opening hours will be from 9am to 6pm daily starting December 7th. In addition to a retail area and cafe, the Engino Stem Exploration Centre will feature an exhibition space, play areas, and classrooms for hands-on Stem activities, led by experienced teaching staff. Entrance to the cafe and retail area will be free, while payment for classroom activities can be made through membership or on an ad-hoc basis.
The Engino Stem Exploration Centre is the brainchild of directors Jawd Iqbal, an engineer, and Sohail Khalil, a professor in mechanical engineering. Iqbal expressed excitement about the store’s educational offerings, aiming to make science, technology, maths, and engineering fun for children and families. Khalil emphasized the mix of free and paid activities, ensuring that there will be a variety of options for visitors to enjoy.
