Delightful Desserts up for sale at Norwich’s Castle Quarter

Delightful Desserts on the second floor of Castle Quarter has been put on the market with owners saying the business is “still running successfully”.

According to the listing, the shop is being sold due to “personal/medical reasons” with a price not listed.

The advert for the sale of Delightful Desserts says there is “high potential” to increase sales if a buyer employed their own delivery drivers and extended opening hours with a licence to open between 7am and midnight.

It read: “This is a well-established dessert restaurant in Castle Quarter.

“The store is surrounded by other shops and a cinema directly above.

“The business is still running successfully, with good sales in-store and on all the delivery platforms, including Uber Eats, Just Eat and Deliveroo.”

It comes after Currybox, Hank’s Dirty and Mamma Mia all announced they were leaving the mall’s Castle Social food court.

Hank’s Dirty is planning to move to the mall’s fourth floor, named The Terrace, in the former home of Cocina, while Currybox and Mamma Mia are both up for sale.

Closures have left the area, which opened in October last year, with just two food outlets in Streetfood Box and the recently opened Togo’s Street Eats taco outlet, while its Pinker and Green bar continues to trade.

Outside of the Castle Social food hall, dining outlets remain on the shopping centre’s first and second floors with brands including Sweettastic Churros, Muffin Break and BB’s.

Gemma Hyde, the marketing and administration manager at Castle Quarter, has confirmed the food hall’s operators are looking for new outlets.

She said: “We believe that Market Asset Management, the operators of Castle Social, are in negotiations with a range of other vendors to complement the current food and drink offering they have.”

Delightful Desserts said it did not wish to comment further on the sale.
