Tortilla confirms planned opening date of Norwich restaurant
Mexican fast-casual chain, Tortilla, is set to open its first location in Norwich, taking over the previous site of Greggs on White Lion Street. The restaurant is scheduled to open in early December and construction work is already underway at the 3,800sqft space spread across four floors, including a storage basement. The prominent location has been vacant since Greggs moved to a larger premises in December 2022.
The exterior of the building will undergo modifications, including the installation of a Tortilla fascia board and an illuminated sign displaying the restaurant’s slogan, “Real California Burritos & Tacos.” A digital screen and an illuminated menu box will also be placed in the shop window, adding to the aesthetic appeal.
Tortilla was established in 2007 and has grown to become the largest fast-casual Mexican restaurant brand in the UK, with over 80 locations nationwide offering dine-in and takeaway options. The upcoming Norwich branch will be a welcome addition for locals who currently have to travel to the closest Tortilla restaurant in Cambridge. It promises to bring the taste of California-style Mexican cuisine to Norwich, featuring burritos and tacos as their specialty dishes.
