John Hoyte, a former pilot from Bracondale, is re-launching his flight-sim business after it closed in 2019. His new venture, called SimpliFly, will offer people in and around the city of Norwich the experience of flying Second World War planes without leaving the ground. The business will operate out of St Giles House Hotel starting from October 17. The simulator includes realistic features such as flight stick, rudder pedals, and a vibrating seat, along with a 98-inch TV screen. Customers will have the option to fly from anywhere in the world and choose from a variety of different aircraft.
John Hoyte, who retired from flying in 2005, closed his previous business, Sim-Fly Norfolk, in 2019 in order to focus on his long-term battle with aerotoxic syndrome. He believed that the air inside his cabin had poisoned him and had initiated legal action. Now, he is confident that SimpliFly will offer an incredibly realistic and enjoyable experience for customers. He plans to do it better than before and wants to entice people by offering free sessions from October 17 to 23. Prices will start from £89 per 90 minutes after the initial free period.
