When is the Wilko shop in Norwich Wilko shop closing?

The St Stephens Street shop is closing on October 3 and will be the last Wilko branch in Norfolk to close. 

The chain tumbled into administration last month after it came under pressure from weak consumer spending and debts to suppliers.

The firm will close 37 stores, including Dereham and Thetford, after trading on September 24, a further 37 on September 26 and another 37, including King’s Lynn, on September 28.

The Gorleston store closed on Thursday and branches in Lowestoft and Great Yarmouth closed earlier this month.

Wilko was founded by James Kemsey Wilkinson in Leicester in 1930 and employed 12,500 workers before its collapse.

B&M European Value Retail said it has agreed to acquire up to 51 Wilko sites from the administrators in a deal worth up to £13 million.
