Bishop of Truro to speak on Christian persecution 


The Bishop of Truro, Rt Rev Philip Mounstephen, will be speaking about the persecution of Christians at an online lecture at UEA.


“Unpacking the persecution problem” is the title of this year’s annual UEA / Keswick Hall Trust Lecture. It will take place on Wednesday 3 March 7 at 8.30pm.

According to the latest Open Doors World Watch List (2021) on Religious Persecution, over 340 million Christians around the world are facing high levels of persecution and discrimination for their faith. In 2018, Bishop Philip was tasked by the UK Government with investigating the persecution of Christians.

His report has been fully accepted and is being implemented by the current government in support of freedom of religion and belief.In this free talk, Bishop Philip will discuss his investigation, the difficulties faced by believers in practicing their faith, and the need to unpack the persecution problem.

The talk is will introduced by Professor of Faith and Global Politics Lee Marsden and followed by a Q&A.
