Anglican Fun Run in West Norfolk

On bank holiday Monday 4 May parishes, youth groups and schools will be coming together at Houghton Hall near Fakenham for a fun run/walk and a big picnic!  And it will all be in aid of charity.

Run, walk or stroll around the 2.5 mile course as many times as you like in the wonderful grounds and deer park at Houghton Hall.  Get sponsored to take part with half the money going to your local church and half to the East Anglian Air Ambulance.

The challenge to the fittest is to complete the 10 mile distance ie 4 whole laps!  It costs £10 to register, and participants will receive a starter pack in the post.

Organiser Alison Saunders said “It’s a great opportunity to come as a group or individually, support friends taking part, and perhaps have a cuppa with the Bishops and Archdeacons (more tea, vicar?!). Why not bring your dog (on a lead) and get them sponsored too?

For a more relaxing day out join the big bring-your-own picnic!  There will be refreshments, cake stall, live band, seats and more in our Picnic Village area overlooking the house.”

The idea for the Charge came about 6 years ago when the East Anglian Air Ambulance became very close to the heart of the Archdeacon of Lynn, the Venerable John Ashe. His wife was in a very serious accident and the Air Ambulance helped to get her to hospital in life-saving time. Since then, John has been doing all he can to raise money for the charity.

To register for the fun run/walk and raise money, visit the online shop  and purchase the starter pack for £10.  A family or youth group only need to register once at £10 total cost.  We will be gathering at 10.30am for the fun run/walk, which will start at 11.00am.
