St Faith’s Church, Gaywood are becoming excited about their upcoming Christmas Tree Festival on December 1-5 where 30 trees will be decorated and illuminated to create a beautiful display in the centuries-old church.
St Faith’s Church, Gaywood in King’s Lynn are hosting their third Christmas Tree Festival from Thursday, December 1 to Monday, December 5 inclusive.
The Festival will be officially opened at 7pm on December 1 by Anthony Isaacs of BBC Radio Norfolk. Following the short opening ceremony, there will be a Christmas Variety concert featuring local singers, musicians and dancers. Tickets for the concert cost £7 each available from the church office.
Mr Richard Parr, St Faith’s Churchwarden and member of the Tree Festival organising team said: “Around 30, mainly real, trees will be on show during the Christmas Tree Festival, all beautifully decorated and illuminated by children from local primary schools, representative of church organisations and charity groups. In the late afternoon, when the natural light fades, the trees take on a magical appearance in the centuries-old church.”
The church, off Gayton Road, in Gaywood, King’s Lynn, will be open from 10am each day of the Festival except for Sunday morning when it will be open from 11.30am. On Friday, December 2, the Festival will be open until 8pm to give more people an opportunity to enjoy the trees. Refreshments will be available to purchase.
On Saturday evening, December 3, 7.30pm there will be a second concert performed by the West Norfolk Singers with guitarist Lee Bigland and a female vocalist. Tickets for the concerts are £7 each or if you buy tickets for both festival concerts two can be purchased for £10.
Mr Parr said: “We extend a warm welcome to all our visitors and hope that they enjoy the display of trees on show. This will be our third Festival and our previous two events have proved very popular with visitors. One of the aims of the Festival is to promote St Faith’s Church, where Anglicans and Methodists worship together, to a wider public. If you haven’t been to our Tree Festival before please do make a note of the dates and pay us a visit, you will not be disappointed”.
Admission to the Festival is free but visitors are welcome to make donations. All proceeds will go towards the running costs of the church.
