Carols in the Bandstand from Celebrate King’s Lynn

The Bandstand area in The Walks, King’s Lynn was aglow with lights on December 10 as churches joined together to share the joy and celebration of the birth of Jesus with carols and more.

On December 10, Celebrate King’s Lynn launched Carols in the Bandstand with musicians joining together from St John the Evangelist, King’s Lynn Christian Fellowship, The Gateway Church, King’s Lynn Baptist and North Lynn Methodist Church for a town wide Christmas celebration.

As the musicians braved the elements Andy Osborne, from King’s Lynn Christian Fellowship, who was master of ceremonies, introduced the event by playing Carol of the Bells.

LED T-lights were handed out as people stood and admired the festive scene. Within moments the scene was made complete with a flurry of snow pouring out of the snow machine.

Refreshments were handed out by Olivia O’Neill who made a special brew of warmed mulled spiced apple drink, accompanied by a mince pie. The refreshments tent also hosted Christmas crafts supplied by King’s Glory Church who together with the children that gathered made various seasonal crafts.

Celebrate King’s Lynn Organiser Alison Hill said: “There was a real sense of joy in the air as tired parents were pulled into this festive scene by their children after Christmas shopping. They were greeted by music, laughter and refreshments. The children were covered in snowflakes as they skipped around the front of the bandstand; hearing the carol and enjoying a glimpse of what Christmas is really about.”

Celebrate King’s Lynn’s next event is on Saturday 3rd June 2017 10am- 4pm.
