Could you be a Lynn Hospital Chaplaincy Volunteer?

The Chaplaincy Service at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, King’s Lynn is currently looking for more Chaplaincy Volunteers to provide pastoral care for patients and their relatives.

The Queen Elizabeth Hospital Chaplaincy Service is recruiting more volunteers to join their team of chaplains.

Susan Hollins (pictured), Lead Chaplain of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King’s Lynn said: “Being a patient, or supporting a close relative or friend in hospital, can be an unsettling and anxious time that is often filled with more questions than answers. We provide a listening ear to help people tease out these questions, although we don’t have all the answers.

“Our aim is to allocate at least two Chaplaincy Volunteers to each Ward: people who are skilled listeners who in bringing a positive, non-judgemental approach, can support a wide range of patients, and especially those who are particularly anxious and/or isolated. The role can also involve offering prayer with and for people, arising out of our listening to them.”

If you would like to explore this opportunity further please contact Susan Hollins, Lead Chaplain on 01553 613441 or email [email protected]
