Christian Aid Week starts early in South Creake

On April 8, the Church of Our Lady St Mary in South Creake, West Norfolk are inviting their community to have a ‘Big Brekkie’ to support Christian Aid and hope to raise even more than the £684 raised last year.
On Saturday April 8, 9.30am – 11.30am the Church of Our Lady St Mary in rural South Creake, West Norfolk are hosting a ‘Big Brekkie’ event at the South Creake Memorial Pavilion in advance of Christian Aid Week.
Last year the organisers were amazed at the response with over 70 people coming to enjoy a cooked breakfast and make a difference to some of the poorest communities in the world. Many of those coming to the breakfast were coming to the church community for the first time. The Church raised an amazing £684 thanks also to a cake sale and raffle.
Alison Wakeman who helped organise the event said: “I’m really pleased at responses from those who came last year and who are spreading the word, and hope that we can do at least as well if not better this year. Come along with your family and friends and enjoy a lazy Saturday breakfast with us.”
Christian Aid Week begins on May 14 and it’s not too late to make a difference. If you would like a Big Brekkie pack, collection envelopes or collecting tins please contact Julian Bryant on [email protected].
