Painting and biblical feasting in Overstrand

There will be opportunities to improve your painting skills and indulge in some biblical feasting next month at the Pleasaunce in Overstrand in North Norfolk.

David Wyles will be leading a painting workshop from Monday 7 to Friday 11 November, and bookings are now being taken. This will be a relaxed week to enjoy, with no pressure.

David says, “We will be working in oils on 16”x20” canvas board affixed to an upright table easel.  You can sit or stand whilst painting, whatever you feel comfortable in doing.  You will be painting in the ‘wet on wet’ technique championed by the late great Bob Ross. All the equipment will be provided for you.  It will all take place indoors; we will start hopefully at 10am each day and finish around 5pm with an hour dinner break.  Coffee and tea will be provided throughout the day.  You will complete 3 canvases, 1 for each day.  On the first evening of your stay, I will be doing a demonstration painting giving you all the opportunity to ask questions about the technique, about the week, etc. You will amaze yourself on what you can achieve, and don’t forget Bobs mantra, ‘We don’t make mistakes we just have happy accidents!”.

David Wiles is a Certified Bob Ross Instructor in Landscapes and Floral paintings.  He has been teaching for about 8 years running workshops in his studio on a regular weekly basis, demonstrating to various groups and clubs and running the occasional painting holiday!

Later that month, Alison Marchant will lead an interactive, hands-on, Biblical, teaching week called “God’s Covenants, Feasts and Faithfulness”. Alison will draw from 40 years of involvement with Israel, including 9 years working in Jerusalem, mostly with CMJ, and later CFI in the UK.

She says “Come and explore the Biblical covenants and feasts. Consider why God instituted them? What relevance do they have to Jesus? And why ever should they matter to us in our Christian lives today? Come and celebrate Purim, eat Haman’s Ears, build a Succah, enjoy a Passover Meal, explore entering into Sabbath, and delve into the depths and riches of being in covenant with God.”

Alison will also share updates on what God is doing in Israel today. The course runs from Monday 14 to Friday 18 November.
