Cornish Bakery chain opening in Norwich in September

Cornish Bakery is opening in the former home of O2 at 31 Castle Street at the end of September.

The chain offers hot drinks accompanied by baked goods including traditional pasties, pizzetta and tortillas.

Nationally the business has 54 stores including bakeries in Southwold, Birmingham and Plymouth.

Steve Grocutt, the founder of Cornish Bakery, said: “Our vision is to redefine what a bakery does and can be.

“On our journey to this, we have identified the historic, beautiful and vibrant city of Norwich as one of our prime targets for one of our new bakeries.

“We are truly an independent company and build all our bakeries differently.

“Our new bakery interior takes its inspiration from the Millennium Library and we have even painted the exterior green for the football fans. 

“We also believe a bakery should be part of the community so we will be involved in community and charity events.”

As part of work on the shopfront, Cornish Bakery is moving the entrance from Castle Street to Arcade Street.
