The ‘Fairtrade for Sheringham’ group will be holding a coffee morning next month at St Andrews Methodist church to celebrate and highlight Fairtrade Fortnight.
Fairtrade Fortnight takes place from 27 February to 12 March and the Sheringham group is currently conducting a survey among the retail establishments in the town to ensure that they are aware of the Fairtrade movement and how they might support it. The coffee morning will also help to highlight the work in Sheringham.
Jean Parton from Fairtrade for Sheringham said “Sheringham is a Fairtrade Town of which we are all very proud thanks to the hard work of Brenda Smith, pictured above, and others over many years. We are determined to ensure that Sheringham stays a Fairtrade Town and is committed to flying the flag for fair trade not just locally but across the world.”
The Big Brew Coffee Morning, cake stall & Fairtrade stall will run from 10am to 12noon on Saturday 4 March, at St Andrew’s Methodist Church, Cromer Road, Sheringham, NR26 8SA.
‘Fairtrade for Sheringham’ encourages everyone to look for goods with the Fairtrade logo, such as tea, coffee, sugar, chocolate, biscuits and many other products. Proceeds from the coffee morning and stall will go to Transform Trade which works closely with farmers in countries such as Kenya who value the support they are given to help them make their farms more efficient and sustainable.
