Musical tells the Gospel through the eyes of a girl
St Thomas Church in Norwich will be putting on a musical entitled ‘Daughter’, telling the story of Jesus through the eyes of the 12-year-old girl he raised.
Performances will be on Friday March 17 and Saturday March 18 at 7.30pm, and entrance is free.
Mark Albanie, the director of the musical, writes: “In the Gospels we find the story of Jairus, a community leader living in Capernaum during the time of Jesus. His daughter became very sick, so much so that Jairus had to swallow his pride and beg Jesus for help.
“He had left it too late, and the girl died before they could return to his home. But what happened next would change Jairus and his family for ever.”
‘Daughter’ is a musical that tells this story. It communicates a number of events in Jesus’ life, His death, resurrection and teaching through the eyes of Jairus’ daughter and her family.
The performances will be accessible to the non-church community, and powerfully communicate God’s love for us and His plan of redemption.
The venue is St Thomas, Earlham Road, Norwich NR2 3RG. For ticket reservations please go to: stn.org.uk/daughter
