Cromer Church to host anniversary concert
Sheringham and Cromer Choral Society will be holding their 90th Anniversary Concert in Cromer Parish Church at the end of April, and tickets are now on sale.
The choir, directed by David Ballard, will celebrate the joy of bringing choral singing to north Norfolk over the last 90 years. Alongside key pieces such as Benjamin Britten’s Festival Te Deum and William Matthias’ Let the People Praise Thee, the choir will revisit two past Choral Society commissions, and the audience will hear works written by our very first and present musical directors and a new commission for this occasion written by local composer Andrew Weeks. The accompanist is Philip Adams and Jodie Ballard will be playing the flute.
The Choral Society was founded in 1933 under the direction of the late Norman Cutting. It was originally formed with the intention of performing the major well known choral works in the two parish churches, a tradition which has continued to this day.
The concert is at 7pm on Saturday 29 April 2023. Tickets are £15 (under 18’s Free) from the box office at Sheringham Little Theatre on 01263 822337 or online at sheringhamlittletheatre.com . Tickets also available in person from North Norfolk Visitor Centre, 26 Louden Road Cromer, NR27 9EF – cash purchases only.
