“Whether you’re a thrill-seeker, trying something completely new or taking on a personal challenge, it’s a golden opportunity to support EACH” – Norwich Abseil is the latest addition to a fun-packed events calendar for 2026

Thrill-Seeking for a Cause: EACH’s Exciting Fundraising Events for 2026

East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) has unveiled an exhilarating lineup of fundraising events for 2026, headlined by a nerve-jangling abseil down one of Norwich’s most iconic buildings. On April 19th, daring participants will descend 45 feet from The Form in Norwich, with early bird tickets available until the end of January for just £20 (or £25 including a souvenir t-shirt). This isn’t EACH’s first adventure in the city—a similar event two years ago saw 71 brave souls raise nearly £20,000 for the children’s charity. “Anyone that signs up will be in for the ultimate challenge—an adrenaline rush, the chance to conquer fears, and enjoy unbeatable views of the city,” enthuses Senior Events Fundraiser Ellie Nevard. With limited spaces expected to fill quickly, potential participants are encouraged to register soon. While open to those 14 and older, minors must be accompanied by adult spectators. Beyond the thrill of the experience, each abseiler is asked to raise at least £150, as these fundraising efforts directly support EACH’s vital work with children and families.

The Norwich Abseil represents just one highlight in EACH’s packed 2026 events calendar, designed to offer something for everyone while raising crucial funds for children’s hospice services across East Anglia. The Norwich Bubble Rush kicks things off on May 17th at the Norfolk Showground, featuring a foamy 2.5km course with four bubble stations that participants can complete once or twice. Last year’s event proved tremendously successful, raising an impressive £54,000. Following this frothy fun comes the more challenging Pier 2 Pier Norfolk walk on June 7th. This event invites participants to trek 32 miles along the picturesque Norfolk Coastal Path, stretching from Cromer Pier to Great Yarmouth Pier. The 2025 edition saw 49 determined walkers generate nearly £40,000 for the charity, demonstrating how physical challenges can translate into meaningful support for vulnerable children and their families.

For families looking to get muddy together, The Piglet, Junior Hog returns on July 12th at Wantisden Hall near Woodbridge. This popular event features an array of wet and muddy obstacles designed to challenge and delight participants of all ages. Last summer’s muddy adventure attracted over 1,430 participants and raised more than £47,500, making it one of EACH’s most successful family-oriented fundraisers. Later in the season, Pier 2 Pier Suffolk offers a somewhat gentler challenge on September 12th, with participants walking 16 miles between Lowestoft and Southwold. This coastal trek attracted more than 160 walkers last year and raised £24,000. EACH has strategically timed these events throughout the year, allowing supporters multiple opportunities to get involved in ways that match their interests and fitness levels.

What makes these events particularly appealing is the early bird pricing available until January 31st, making it an ideal time to commit to a personal challenge while supporting a worthy cause. “What better way to start the new year than by signing up for one of our events—setting yourself a challenge, getting a date in the diary, and doing something exciting to support a very special cause,” says Ellie Nevard. The discounted rates not only make the events more accessible but also represent significant savings, especially for families participating together. By offering this incentive, EACH hopes to boost early registrations and build momentum for what promises to be an exciting year of fundraising adventures across East Anglia.

While the thrill of abseiling down a landmark building or conquering a muddy obstacle course provides immediate satisfaction for participants, EACH emphasizes that the true impact comes through the funds raised. As Ellie explains, “Although people’s registration fee helps make the abseil possible, it’s their fundraising that ensures the vital care local families rely on can be delivered.” This underscores the dual purpose of these events: providing memorable experiences for participants while generating essential resources for EACH’s specialized care services. Every pound raised contributes directly to supporting children with life-threatening conditions and their families across Cambridgeshire, Essex, Norfolk, and Suffolk, making each splash through mud or step along a coastal path meaningful beyond the personal achievement.

For those inspired to participate but perhaps uncertain about fundraising, EACH offers comprehensive support through its events team. Potential participants can email [email protected] for guidance on fundraising strategies, tips for maximizing donations, or information about volunteering opportunities at the events. The charity has built a strong community of supporters over the years, with many returning annually to their favorite events or challenging themselves with new adventures. Whether someone is a thrill-seeker naturally drawn to the Norwich Abseil, a family looking for a fun day out at the Bubble Rush, or a dedicated walker ready to tackle the pier-to-pier challenges, EACH’s 2026 calendar offers a way for everyone to contribute to improving the lives of children facing the most difficult circumstances. As registration opens across all events, East Anglia’s communities are invited to step forward, challenge themselves, and make a meaningful difference.

  1. Hi there would you mind sharing which blog platform you’re working with?
I’m looking to start my own blog soon but I’m having a tough time selecting between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal.
The reason I ask is because your layout seems
different then most blogs and I’m looking
for something completely unique. P.S My apologies for
getting off-topic but I had to ask!
