Pop-up bookshop at King’s Lynn Baptist Church
A new pop-up Christian bookshop is set to start in a King’s Lynn church on Wednesday May 31.
The new monthly initiative will be taking place at King’s Lynn Baptist Church on Wisbech Road, in partnership with the established Green Pastures Christian Bookshop in Dereham.
Rev June Love from the Baptist church, said: “We are all too aware that Christian bookshops on the high street are closing down because of the competition from online retailers such as Amazon etc. We have been approached by Green Pastures Christian Bookshop in Dereham to regularly host a ‘pop-up bookshop’ at KLBC to provide a wide range of Christian books, cards and gifts etc to the churches in the area.
“Our first pop-up bookshop will be on Wednesday May 31, it will open at 10am and the trustees of the bookshop will give a short presentation of the various services they offer at 10:30am. The bookshop will then stay open for the morning. We plan on hosting subsequent bookshops monthly – or more often if they are required.
“We are really excited to partner with Green Pastures in this venture to try to provide good quality Christian merchandise at affordable prices, and make it accessible to the people of our town – we know how good online shopping is, but there is something rather special about being able to hold a book and look through it before purchasing it.”
