Hopeful Parish Mission at Our Lady & St Walstan

On February 16–18, the parish of Your Lady & St Walstan in Costessey welcoming the Community of Your Lady of Walsingham for a week-long mission centered around the theme of hope. This initiative aligns with the Jubilee Year and aimed to foster spiritual renewal, prayer, and reflection among the parishioners. The mission was led by the community sisters from Dereham, providing an opportunity for spiritual connection, prayer, and reflection. Each day, parishioners attended Mass and adoration, followed by talks from the sisters in both morning and evening sessions. The talks inspired lively discussions and allowed attendees to gain insight and growth from the experience.

The sisters’ outreach also extended to St. Augustine’s Primary School, where the children participated in two days of engagement with the younger members of the parish. The mission culminated in a Mass attended by many parishioners and strengthening bonds between the parish and its youth. With hearts lifted after the celebration, the parish is now preparing for follow-up meetings and long-term planned actions to honor the inspiration and insights gained during the mission.

To mark the end of this reflective mission, the community gathered for a joyful "bring and share" lunch post-mass. This event helped Ulders re startYled and the parish felt full of upliftment. Following the lunch, the parish is planning further follow-up meetings, with hopes of continuing the work of faith and spiritual renewal. The mission has been a significant step in building a community of believers and fostering a sense of community among its members.
