Re-launched church welcomes all in North Norfolk
Grace Church North Norfolk is a new church that has recently opened in East Runton, formed from the membership of the former Cromer Baptist Church. The original Cromer Baptist Church was founded in 1901 and had its home on Church Street in Cromer for over 100 years until it relocated to East Runton in 2018. The church has become completely independent since 1989 and affiliated with the Fellowship of Independent Evangelical Churches in 2021. The change in name to Grace Church North Norfolk is part of the process of registering as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO).
The new church meets for worship every Sunday at 10.30am, with families and children being a part of the fellowship. Activities are provided for children under 11 during the sermon, and morning services are live-streamed on YouTube. Additionally, there is a bible study and prayer meeting at 2pm every Wednesday. Derek Hann, a deacon at the church, has noted an increase in numbers and welcomes visitors, whether local or on holiday. The church aims to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for all who wish to join their services.
The church’s move to East Runton has allowed for growth and an increase in numbers, with holidaymakers from various parts of the country also visiting during the summer months. The congregation is diverse and welcoming to all who wish to attend services. Pastor Jon Davies leads the church, and activities and events are planned to cater to the needs of the community. The church is actively involved in outreach and welcoming new members, and they are open to collaboration and engagement with the wider community in North Norfolk.
