Inside last steps of Gaynor Lord as footage of the missing mum shows her glancing at shop window before vanishing

The last known sighting of 55-year-old Gaynor Lord shows her glancing into a shop window in Norwich before she vanished. She had been seen walking into a cathedral quarter, then walking back out with a more subdued demeanor. Her 34 “missing” minutes in this area are being investigated by the police, who believe she did not meet with anyone. Her final movements were captured on CCTV, showing her walking along St. Augustines Street and appearing to be staring blankly at a shop window. Later, her belongings, including her clothing, jewelry, phone, and glasses were found scattered in Wensum Park, and her coat was found in the river.

Gaynor’s friend, Julie Butcher, received two calls from her shortly before she disappeared. During the first call, Gaynor asked where Julie was, and Julie explained that she was at home, sorting out the internet. When Julie tried calling back seven or eight minutes later, she couldn’t reach Gaynor. Gaynor’s colleague at Bullards Gin concession in Jarrolds department store mentioned that Gaynor had said she felt a bit off that day. Additionally, police officials believe that their efforts to search the River Wensum were hampered by poor visibility and debris.

Family members of Gaynor are still hopeful that she will be found safe, and friend Simon Valentine mentioned that she often walked her dog by the Wensum and knew the areas around the river well. There are also ongoing efforts to involve expert divers in the search, with dive expert Peter Faulding offering assistance to the family. The police are treating this case with seriousness, consulting with colleagues in Lancashire to understand more about a similar disappearance that had occurred there. Gaynor’s husband, Clive Lord, has been described as being in distress, with his two daughters providing him with support. The family is hoping for good news but is understandably shocked and worried about her disappearance.
